Fun facts about French Language

The Longest Word Is a Mouthful

The longest word officially recognized in the French dictionary is anticonstitutionnellement, meaning “unconstitutionally.” It boasts 25 letters and is often used in language trivia and tongue-twister challenges

Counting Gets Creative After 70

French numbers take a quirky turn after 69. For instance, 70 is expressed as soixante-dix (“sixty-ten”), 80 as quatre-vingts (“four-twenties”), and 90 as quatre-vingt-dix (“four-twenties-ten”). This unique counting system can be a fun puzzle for learners.

France Has a Word Police!

France has an organization called “L’Académie Française” that protects the French language. They even try to limit the use of English words like “le weekend” or “le selfie” in French!

Courses We offer

Level A1 – Beginner

At the A1 level, the learner can understand very basic words and expressions used in everyday life, especially if spoken slowly and clearly. They can read short, simple sentences. In a conversation, they can ask and answer simple questions about themselves (name, nationality, address...). In writing skills, they can fill out forms, write a short postcard, or a basic sentence.

Level A2 – Elementary

At this level, the learner understands common sentences about familiar topics such as family, work, or surroundings. They can read short, practical texts like menus, schedules, or simple letters. They can also take part in brief conversations, ask and answer straightforward questions, and exchange basic information in familiar contexts. In writing, they can write short messages or simple letters, such as thank-you notes or friendly updates.
